Disco 82!

2 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]

Fresher party!
Our theme for the party was Disco 82.

The most interesting part of the party was the Mr & Miss freshers round.

round 1 : Introduce yourself and exaggerate.
Almost everyone did well.

 Round 2 : Role play.
 > Monjolika act with Sunny deol :D
> Dolly Brinda fighting with Nana Patekar
> Proposing in 70/80s style with the girl rejecting.
> Daya ( from Tarak Mehta ) & ACP Pradyuman conversation.
> Dharmendra suicide scene from Sholay in Rajnikant style , while Basanti as Pooja Mishra ( spare me !! :D )

Super amazing juniors. Each of them rocked the roleplaying session.

And the third round was the usual questions & answer round.
One guy was asked what would he first look in a girl ?
Now  now now..thats a controversial question. No guy is going to answer that straight face in all honesty. He said eye and sandals. :P
Another guy was asked what superpower he'd like to have.
He said 'scanner' if am not wrong.
:O

Suddenly all creativity seemed to have swiped away in the third round. :|

I head-banged crazy on powerful tracks. I was aware of the disapproving glares and little bitching sessions...but who gives a damn ?! Nothing comes between me and dance :D

Also I think the best part is the superawesome gang of friends I have. I can be myself 200% :P
I danced like a maniac ( need not be mentioned )..as if I were drunk And it was fun.
Its always fun to be crazy ;)

Carnival!

1 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
Its been quite a happening weekend.

Started off with farewell party. We had chosen 'carnival' as our theme and I don't reckon if any senior stuck with the theme. Infact for that matter I think - we , the juniors were dressed better :D

There was obviously the usual..food , dancing and picture clicking. Lots of it!

We had selected special couples for the paper dancing competition. Too much chemistry dude!
And yes as they say..'mauke ka faida uthao' - the juniors too jumped in the competition :D

I was dancing with a friend - trying to do the ball dance thing which didn't seem to work because neither am I good at it nor was he :P

My friend and I conducted the Mr and Miss senior/farewell/ whatever :P
And it was nothing short of a disaster!
Our questions were quite questionable!
We asked one of the girls nominee to swear in Hindi.
She started off with beep beep..but we prodded her to say the full word.
And in front of those odd 200 people she blurted out MC and one or two other such slangs without a hitch. Gutsy!!
The seniors were enjoying the show :P but then some of the guys from our batch opposed and I decided maybe we would have to change the rest of the questions.

So even as I asked one of the guys about his views on live-in relations , I had to change the virginity question replacing it with who's the hottest here! huh :o Not much fun :P

The question round was the last one. There was the ramp walk and dance with the juniors before that. One of the seniors asked me to dance with him.

As for the rest of the party...I danced like a maniac! Totally to my heart's content.
And if it weren't for those stupid heels I wore ,  I could have danced more ( if we could have had more of the dj! )

This is the invitation card for the seniors! Nice no ? Quite a creative bunch we have in college!

I have formed a theory about dressing.
The shorter your LBD , the more compliments you garner :P
While my friends constantly kept saying I was looking hot, my classmates were quite surprised to see me in new avatar :D

And of course my friends were also teasing me to no end.
'Maaal' someone said. The other one was like 'Inventory?' lol
When I told this to another friend , he said ' Godown ka maal ?'
:D

Everybody is a character here! And I love being these superawesome people.
Had an amazing time with everyone!

I don't get it why seniors think they are the most gorgeous people on the whole damn earth. I would have wanted to enlighten them on this several times.
They have an attitude the size of an elephant.

I almost silently swear every time one of them give those looks. Bitch.

Driving on highway

9 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
I just got wings. So I cannot stop from flying.

Doing crazy stuff. Drove 20 kms in the outskirts of the  city for a college function at night.

It was risky. My first drive on highway at night.
Did not tell at home.

"kamine' friends kept irritating all through the drive :
" yes ,  run over that guy.."
" are 2-3 ko toh aaj uda hi dena.."
" Oyee..mai apni mom ka ek lauta beta hoon..so please aaram se chala"
" Nammm...if you hit the truck , the truck will be pieces..apne ko kuch nahi hoga" :P

So even while my car and we all survived ...( it was quite hyped..I was driving good enough!)
this guy Z starts talking about flesh , blood and dunno what all :O

And he did not accompany us , the girls on our way back. Free food makes him 10 times more hungry :|

Had an amazing Dj party! Danced to my heart's content! :D :D
We never refrain ourselves from doing garba..even if the song played is 'chammak challo'

Seniors choreographed a fashion show on retro theme. Quite commendable.

And there was lavani too which was performed twice.

We too danced on 2 bollywood numbers with 1 hr of practice.
Maybe the saving grace was that we cancelled one of our dance sequence at the end moment on seeing all the other dance performances. :P

College doesn't suck when it arranges such parties :D
How I love to dance !!

Timing.

5 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
I have a gut feeling that unless I learn to buy a gadget all by myself - it is not going to survive!

So I broke the touch screen of my x6 , again :P

Which stupid person on earth does garba while keeping the cell phone in one hand and clapping over it ? :P

I did :|

I had a great tiring dancing weekend. And I was obviously turned off for killing my cell phone.

Most of my friends and cousins think that I've become very self absorbed. I don't involve much in talks. I don't respond well. And the truth is I know that. But I'm not willing to do anything about it.

I'm very irritated and I don't have any specific reason for the same. And I'm not sorry for my behavior.

I want people to stop talking to me if they have issues with me.I cannot entertain complaints for now
because I'll be my old self again in some time.
I don't have the energy to explain. My mind's already quite screwed up.

Anyway..coming back to Garba..this time it was quite a disappointment. The crowd wasn't as rocking. The arrangements were annoying.

Its so weird and ironic. The things you always wanted to be a part of..you never could because there were restrictions.
And now when you have the freedom...you are not THAT inclined towards it.

Everything has a timing.

If you didn't make it then..you might as well do someday..
but
odds are..it will loose its charm.

So dance , dance , like its the last , last night you your life , life...

5 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
...Coz baby tonight the DJ got us* falling in love again

( *with dance :P )

We had a ROCKING installation program  at college.
Totally enjoyed the entire process.
Selecting songs..setting the dance , practicing and performing  - in flat 2 days.
+ getting a dozen compliments and hooting :P

It was amazing! :D
We , the bunch of six , set the stage on fire :P

I took part in the fashion show as well. Our theme was Bikers !
That too was kickass :P

The arrangements weren't top class but then just being there..with your funniest craziest bunch of friends and class mates - dancing , enjoying...being appreciated...it just feels awesome!!

I loved it more when our effort  paid off. Got lots of compliments!! Made my day!

Not just dance. I was even complimented for my dressing :P And that's a rare thing lol
If you were to see me on any other day during college and if you saw me last night - I had a total makeover :D

I dress very casually. Very. So the way I carried myself off last night was different , bolder and hotter :P

--------------------

I still remember you asked me what makes me happy ?
What I simple question!
I freaking couldn't answer that.I was blank.
I would tell now.
DANCING is one of those things.
Sadly it has conditions. I need a freaking awesome company to enjoy the same.

----------------------------

There's a joke among us friends.
I've become a tea addict. So the day I behave weirdly - they all go like
" Somebody please bring her - her drug " :P
One can actually sense a difference in my attitude after I have my
canteen ki chai ;)

--------------------------

We celebrated my friend's birthday with a luncheon treat at a sexy restaurant.
Yes , people ask me how a restaurant is sexy ?
In case of restraunts , sexy = great food + dashing interiors. When you go like  :
WOW.
Where the hell was I and why haven't I been here before ?
This is THE place I'm gonna be at for a romantic sexy date :P

We visited an orphanage later in the evening. Donated clothes.
Its a nice feeling being with the kids..playing around with them..talking to them...making them smile..
but you wanna leave as soon as you enter.
There were a couple of handicapped kids. And it awfully pains to see them.I tried talking to them. But its hard to look them in the eyes and not sympathize.

You feel like someone just punched you in the stomach.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance!

Freshers.

6 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
I like it when someone asks me out for dance - and even though I do not know how to jive..I still dive in the offer... Because I so so so wanted to ball dance :P

I like it even more that a preferably good guy asked me out for the same :P :P lol

And then...I like it much more that another good guy from class pings me & tells me that I danced good :D :D

Nothing like being complimented. :P ;)

Do I not sound excited ?! Truth is...I 'enjoyed a party after a long time :))
Danced to my heart's content...clicked lots of pictures &had a great great time!!

Thanks to our seniors for the party!
Good venue...awesome DJ ..and okayish food. :P
However , when it comes to rocking tracks & dancing - I really don't  care about food. I eat dancing :) :D

Damage Control :P

6 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
I hosted the party thrown to celebrate my sister's recent achievement - She cleared her CA final exam =)
This was the first time I got the chance to be at the center stage. And I'm proud to have managed pretty well :D

To make the party interesting and more fun...we decided to dedicate songs to our family members.

To my grandmom..
'Hum sath sath hai...' :P

The couples..my uncles and aunts..and my mom dad were dedicated old love songs.

'Ae meri zoharzabi..tujhe maloon nahi '

' Kya khoob lagti ho..badi sundar dkihti ho'

' Tera mujhse hai pehle ka naata koi...yuhin dil lubhata nahi'

' Aankhon mein teri ajab si ajab si aadyein hai'

For my aunts ( dad's sisters ) -
Phoolon ka tarron ka..sab kehna hai...ek hazar mein meri behna hai

Cousins :
Just married  - ' Tere mast mast do nain'  and  'Tum jo aaye zindagi mein..' :P

For my brother ( first cousin)
"To the most eligible bachelor...."
Bachna aee haseeno .. ;)

"To our fashion sensation.."
Fashion ka hai ye jalwa.. :P

For my darling sister.. [ The one who is a Chartered Accountant now ;) ]
Few days back she told me how she always wanted to be a choreographer to which I was like :O what ?!!
And then we thought why not reveal this secret desire of hers to everyone ? :P
So I announced and let the cat out of the bag :D
But..there was a problem. The song didn't play.
..to which I was like " Ok..looks like the song skipped.. now thats quite a secret"
And before I knew it...I sang for her :D :D
Damage control :D
Dance pe chance mar le..

Then she dedicated a song to us sisters.
Tere jaisa yar kahan...kahan aisa yaarana :)

Next..the best dedication :P --- to this cousin of mine who talks with such etiquette & all that jazz...that his usage of hindi words can absolutely stump you :|
" Agar aap inse baat karenge ..toh lagega ki aap kisi shehenshai duniya mein pohoch gaye.... when you talk to him the background music would be something like this.."
Aazim-o-shaan shehensha :D
lol..he was darn embarrassed :D
( And the idea was mine ahem :P )

To the Wikipedia ( this guy can talk about anything!! and you cannot beat him with his knowledge update!)
 ' I'm the best..I'm the best :P'

Last  to our youngest lil brat
'Bum bum bole..masti mein dole' :D

So much fun!! :D
Oh yea..the food was awesome!
This was one of the best family get-together :)

Can't bottle it up...

4 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
Getting back to old routine is tough after spending an amazing time that stretched over for two weeks.
To contain all the excitement is even more tough...because it all got over within minutes. And now it all feels like a long long dream.
So yet again..there isn't much that remains for me to jot down.
And even as am angry that I'm unable to convert sundry photographic moments into words , what bothers me more is that - Old life is going to bite me crazy. :x

Summarizing the last few days : I've had a BLAST - dancing , eating , laughing , traveling , and putting on some of my best glad rags.

Its been a roller of a fortnight.None of us aware of time or week day ..and all of us soaked in crazy celebration ;)

It was the best wedding I've attended so far.And the best of best time I've had with all of my family.
A special mention : Sumptuous lip smacking tongue crackling  food.

We put in a lot of effort in making our Sangeet a success and thankfully it paid off ;)

Its indescribable..of how much I have enjoyed.
Letting the tiredness wear off.
Will be back with a bang.

I'll probably know all the ceremonies by heart

5 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
My brother ( first cousin ) got engaged! Everyone's extremely happy :) We all have been excitingly looking forward for his marriage since he is the eldest in our generation.
The wedding's only a month away.We all are busy deciding songs & theme for the Sangeet and desperately finding a good choreographer.

Yesterday I went over to my sisters' place to finalize all of these things.Instead we ended up putting on random songs and danced like maniacs (monkeys).Hopping , laughing , teasing - we happened to keep a dance competetion & made the younger sister - the judge.I won the monkey dancing competetion :P

Another cousin of mine from maternal family got engaged today!! And I might attend her wedding if I don't have any of my exams clashing.Actually I really do wish to go for her wedding whenever it'll be.Its a nice excuse to spend super fun time with cousins :D

Oh and did I mention that this relative of mine..who basically belongs to my grand mom's family is going to get married in November :P His wedding would be in Jaipur and I want to go there as well :D I have met the one who's getting married...so its not like I would end up attending weddings just for the heck of it :P
My grand mom's family is huge.I haven't met half of them and haven't seen the other half since ages.It would be nice to get to know all.

Wow.Its going to be a full on wedding year.My plate's full :)

We marwaris have a number of functions and ceremonies.
I think by the end of the year I'll be well versed with each of those :P

Things have changed...

5 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
Because we all have grown up.

The last time I had spent such a vacation with these bunch of funny idiots was when brat , Nik and Ankit were of my height. Now all three of them are at least 5 feet 8 inch tall. And I'm still 5'1 :|
That's the most basic difference with which I can relate to the two phases.

A lot of things have changed during these few years.I'm having trouble absorbing it.
To begin with  - Bubble is married. It still hasn't sunk in.

The wedding was superb but the food wasn't.That minimizes the length of this post as I cannot stick to the description of one of the most important elements of wedding ( the food - in case you don't get it ).I feel bad that I couldn't come online and write to my heart's content about the  excitement and mention the scandalous episodes. As of now , most of it has evaporated from my head.So , I'm not left with much to talk about , which is really sad :(

What is worth mentioning is the DJ party we had two nights before the marriage. It was the most awesome dj night I've had.Amazing tracks played over not making us stand still even for a second.
I absolutely loved the way Brat danced! :)
The guys in our family were hitting on the girls from the groom's side :D Its funny given that few of them are already dating. ;)

My stomach dropped during the vidaai ceremony.I didn't cry because I was groggy and also because this particular ritual never makes sense to me.But to be there when every else is crying and the bride is so red-eyed...kind of makes you feel sick.

After the wedding , I extended my stay for more than a week.
We had in- house parties..which was crazy.
We went go carting after ages.
I went shopping -  after ages.
Worth mentioning - the Oreo shake at mochas. Its one of the best things of my trip.
We had silly discussions on nonsense topics which were hilarious.
The guys danced like maniacs.
It seems I wore the best sari.Got compliments for my outfit from EVERY ONE.I'm not exaggerating.
got a tan :( went swimming in scorching sun at uncle's farmhouse just 2 days before the wedding. The tan spoiled my mood for the rest of the days.I hate the pictures.Mine.

Away from the may madness...I spent a supercool time with my maternal family.
When everyone left , I cried.Felt like a fool for doing the same because nobody else was crying :|
That's exactly how sentimental  I am despite strongly resisting any display of my vulnerable side.

I had wished to scribble about all those things that have changed amongst us only to get it all out of my system but I'm already over it.I didn't even think much about it.That's majorly because I didn't have the time to think.I managed to live each moment instead of interpreting and analyzing.

Bitter sweet juggle of emotions.
Folds of difference.
Varied opinions.
Things may have changed.
The magic remains.

Normalization

16 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
=> I cannot dance like no one's watching.Because even when I'm dancing alone - I look at myself into the mirror which means that I'm watched by someone and that makes me conscious.I just am not able to dance in front of the mirror and its bothering me.The second reason being that I just realized I don't dance so well.Dancing was one of those things I always held high about me and I'm quite shattered to know I'm not so good at it.
Saw the video of my cousin's wedding where I danced.I was terrible.I couldn't believe my hand moments were such a mess.
No wonder why set B of my cousins never force me to dance , lol.
However Set A cousins always drag me to dance and shower a lot of praises ..so that explains why I over-estimated my dancing skills.

=> One of my close friends hops down to Mumbai every weekend & will continue hopping for few months which is making me feel bad.I told her how my weekends are gonna be dry to which she said her weekends are going to be extra dry - only studies.
And then I said "No! Away from home is Rain dance!" :D
I wonder why that didn't make her laugh because otherwise she laughs on every second thing I say , because otherwise we both laugh on every second damn thing.

=> Spilling cold water on face every now & then is refreshing. But brushing teeth in a smilar pattern can also make you feel extra fresh.Sometimes I happen to brush my teeth thrice a day.
Oh and I love how colgate tooth powder tastes.

=> I'm tired of keeping 4 different email accounts.Isn't there a way to merge them all ? Huh

=> Quenched my thrist or my thrist was quenched is the most overused phrase I've come across.Don't we have a substitute?

=> Without falling in love , I understand now what 'Don't change in love , let love change you' means. It basically hold for any kind of love. There's just a simple way to it : Don't frame how you want others to be.
Someone told me this long time back and I could never completely get the essence of it.I'm content that I do GET it now.
To add my theory on it : Save surprises in life.Because sometimes you meet people you never imagined and unknowingly you start fancying them even when those are not the kind you've ever framed in your mind - to be around with.

=> I have created a seperate blog to scribble more to avoid being judged. Its funny how this blog came into existance to be my outlet for expression and now I'm feeling the need to run away to a new place just so that I'm not read.My hideous dwelling is giving me a sense of freedom. There are some things thats cannot be left unexpressed and the kind that you don't want people who already know you..to read.

=> I want to change my blog URL.The other day someone marked 'powerdrunk' is manly , lol.No wonder it scares a lot of people + I wonder why I ever chose that :|
And then I want my Set A cousins to read my blog too which means that some stuff from here needs to be edited , and some more to be shifted to my other blog.

=> I don't think I'll get over the remixed version of the song 'summer jam' ( which happens to be almost a decade old ) even by the time winter is gone.

=> If you haven't read Message Log 4 as yet >> its your loss :P

This is such a non hyper , non depressing post.Normal.I like myself for that.

The toppings

13 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
I have to relate most of the happening in my life with food.
So here's the topping of my pizza - pizza being the dance/Navratri fest.
The cheese :
Two more days of dandiya! Sat & sun! Major refreshing crowd.
Expected people.Awaited people =)

Paneer :
Yes , I've had nothing more than paneer tikka or chilli paneer in last two days.
Its yum! And I had enough French Fries too which adds up to a lot of cals but dancing compensated for it.

The extra ketchup :
Danced till 3 in morning.P2 joined me.Awin sent P1 to bring us both back..but instead she herself joined :D
Then finally , P1 dragged me off the circle.I think if I'd have fought a little , I could have easily gone back & danced.

I basically stopped somewhere in the middle , when she caught hold of me.Argh! I was so mad at her because Awin was in no hurry to rush back to home.
So while we drove back - all of 'em asked me if Chocolate shake boosted my energy.
I joked & said its all about "Junoon" :P

Really! Its about that passion for fun.About not skipping a single second out in the moment of fun.
I also shot at P1 that next time onwards ..am gonna make her & P2 have some energy capsules before we head off to dance. How could they just give up dancing when there was so much space & music ? I swear I could have danced for another three hours or more ..if I wanted to which I did.I wasn't tired at all.

Oh hey..the current pizza of my life brought me some fame :D
I popped up on Page 3 in Times along with my friend and this - the very next day after my ratings on looks :P
But that was majorly because of my friend.Did I not mention , she looked gorgeous that day ?! Oh yes she did , so standing next to her turned out to be so magnetizing :D
Frankly , it helps me give my school friends a little edge , you know :D

But again..my name was typed wrong :|
I shouted twice but the photographer still never got it right ! Poor me!
P1 however said "Naam mein kya rakha hai yaar ? Tune hamara naam roshan kar di "

I was like yeah.Kabhi toh I appeared on newspaper - so what if its page 3 - unlike p1 & p2 who run into excellent marks in every exam & hence appear in newspapers.

:) I had fun.I enjoyed a lot.I danced a lot! And I wore super great clothes.Fashionable! :D
No fashion faux pas this time :)) I'm so glad I didn't end up in something that's not attractive or doesn't suit me.
My dress did stand out I feel.It was a combo of Indian western.I love it =)

Happy Dashera Folks!
Conquer the Ravana within (picked from a message , as usual :P )

Factory of tiny facts

15 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
My skin is oil factory. That's how someone once described it.Exaggerated off course but still apt!

A dancing oil factory is no good either.I'm sweating buckets and don't feel the need to go to gym as long as I am dancing which is definitely helping me burn calories. But there's something majorly wrong with my skin :| and my body too.I get tired too easily which is why I'm unable to dance much. And on top of that , my skin oil factory is troubling me helluva!

Anyway , in spite of having cramps in my foot & terrible pain in my leg muscles , I've been dancing like no one's watching yet still very much aware that I am sometimes watched by one of those 100 odd spectators.

Navratri is in full swing! My city is good at something after all :) We have great events organized by some people here. The best part about these navratri events is that..the cream crowd of the city comes under one roof in the best of their clothes! :D
I'm a lil disappointed with this yr's crowd though. Its not so ultra cool like it used to be any other time before but am past having crushes so it doesn't matter anyway :P

I had my moments too.One was where I met this girl from school ..who was a good friend of mine back then but I lost touch with her after school. So it was EXTREMELY nice when she called out for me so DELIGHTEDLY :) See..a genuine wish to talk to someone just comes out naturally. And when she said she had been trying to come to my place , I was even more thrilled. She's a great girl & been a cool friend. No pretenses. No show off attitude.Intelligent , good looking & sweet.
Felt good talking to her.

Then I met another school friend. No actually a lot of them. But this guy , H - I saw him after 5 years!! Although am quite sure now that guys have a pattern in greeting a girl ..they always begin with "Oh hey...you ?! I didn't recognize" even when its so obvious that they recognized you much earlier :|
So I was the one to initiate the talk.I crossed him while he was sitting with his folks and since I was too close to him , I called out his name. And then he STOOD & talked.Courtesy! I like it.I forgot what that recognizing part was anyway :P

Saw some similar faces. And the eyes of those similar faces were on my friend- the bday gal! She was looking way too pretty that day.

Its not fair. Its not fair that all good looking people are into my life.No ..its not fair that in my life , I have the best of the good looking people. And specially the best of my friends.

I need some attention yaar! :P Its just NOT fair !!!

I'm not jealous.I'm sad jealous - one where I cannot do much.
I don't wish that they looked just average.
All I want is - to match up to them - in looks.

Beauty lies in the eyes is bullshit.
Beauty is where beauty is! Not in the eyes.

I was freaked out about all this.My skin , my looks , my height!
I think I still am.
Next time ..I see more number of good looking people around - I'm sure I'll go into depression.

But anyway...Its Dance time for now.
Oh and..I have a dying urge to cuss M.He's acting so weird!
