Punjabi wedding!

1 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
I'm finding it hard to blog these days. Even if it meant writing about the super duper surprised filled best birthday ever! But later on that. The current sizzling event was my lovely friend's wedding :D
And we all know how much fun weddings are!

I have usually attended only marwadi weddings. So being in a Punjabi wedding was a different experience altogether. And I must mention..I am totally in love with Punjabis. Extremely friendly & jolly people plus very  good looking :P
I have learned to speak a little Punjabi too and its fun!

I am gonna miss my friend a lot! Statically she's the one with I have probably had the most fights with but sometimes you share such an amazing bond with some people.. that despite all the run downs..your friendship remains intact and only grows with time! Moreover when a friend gets married and goes away..you realize their importance to no end. :/ :(

I still can't believe Luvza is married! I mean hello ?! It all happened a bit too fast. And since the time she got engaged ( 4 months back ) we've all been wayyy too excited for her wedding :D

While the bride was mostly busy applying and removing makeup,  we friends enjoyed with the family.
And ofcourse the eye candies around us :P
Its so weird the bride and groom are the ones that are tired the most.. I mean the ones getting married should be given a chance to enjoy it :P

I am not a photo person. As in I usually refrain form putting pictures on blog , albums on fb etc.
But this is a major event of my life. And given to my lack of writing - I will just let the pictures speak a thousand words ;)

Wolf of the Wall Street

1 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
I haven't seen a movie as crazy as the Wolf  recently. Its just awesomely nuts. And the fact that its based on  real life story of Jordan Belfort makes it all the more alluring. Or did I just mention crazy ? :P

Leonardo Dicaprio is wonderful - effortless with his ramblings , drugs overdose after effects , Spartan like speeches & of course delivering F words like butter , dialogues and demeanour only he could make you laugh at  .
There's almost a similar parallel role he played in Catch me if you can..only this one gets extremely ridiculously entertaining.

-------

And the funniest of the scenes. ( Several others I refrain to put on the blog :P )

Jordan Belfort: [to the waiter] Oh, I'm good with water for now.
Mark Hanna: It's his first day on Wall Street. Give him time.

Jordan Belfort: I fucked her brains out... for eleven seconds.

Jordan Belfort: Was all this legal? Absolutely not!

Jordan Belfort: I am not gonna die sober!

Jordan Belfort: People say shit... I mean like, you married your cousin or some stupid shit.
Donnie Azoff: Yeah, my wife is my cousin or whatever, but it's not like what you think.
Jordan Belfort: Is she like, a first cousin?
Donnie Azoff: Her father is the brother of my mom. Like, we grew up together, and she grew up hot, you know, she fucking grew up hot. And all my friends are trying to fuck her, you know, and I'm not gonna let one of these assholes fuck my cousin. So I used the cousin thing, as like, an in with her. I'm not like, gonna let someone else fuck my cousin, you know? If anyone's gonna fuck my cousin, it's gonna be me. Out of respect.

----------------

Must must must watch even as the movie yells F words a million times probably making it the most sweari-est movie :D

Hong Kong. Macau!

3 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
This is month old post lying in drafts. :| Totally unfair for it to be there. All I had to was edit , add and hit publish.

Pre-trip , I would have ideally exaggerated ( atleast NOW I will use this word ) about how this trip could be something I would trade anything in the world for.
And then when it happened..when it really did..despite all of my nightmares - it doesn't feel complete.  Like you know that feeling of euphoria or post-travel post-good-times zeal. That's missing. Its just not there.
Ok there were some fights involved. Arguments. But eventually we had fun. We enjoyed. And I was with the best people of my life. And yet..it was incomplete..?

I guess this is a different kind of travel hangover. :|  If I would be saying this to my friends  , they'd probably say " Han han Different toh rahega hi..tu apne desh se jo wapas aayi hai " :D

Confused ? Well.. In all the planning and packing , I forgot to scribble a post about all these Chini jokes made on me before we took off to Hong Kong.
China is considered to be my motherland by one and all.
My friends asked me to make sure that I find my real parents :D Because my Indian parents are so Indian and am soooo Chinese :D
I always disagree about looking Chinese which people claim only due to the fact that  I have small eyes ( how unfair! ) But I certainly have doubts about the possibility of being adopted for some family genes are just not running into me! :P
Some others jokes went about ..
" Tu apne purvajo k desh ja rahi hai "
" Don't get lost ok. Your parents will probabaly bring someone else back thinking its you!!"
" Click pictures with Chinese people. Then we'll play find 6 differences"
lol this one's  a personal favorite :D

Post-trip post. The travelogue :

Macau

If you ever plan to go to Macau. You HAVE to stay at the Venetian Macau Hotel. Its so huge and beautiful comprising of the hotel , a mall and ofcouse-  the biggest casino! All suite rooms with king size beds and huge bathrooms fully adorned with mirrors.

Magnificent Hotel Lobby!

The hotel is so huge ..it actually took us two days to learn to move about it.
The casino was awesome. We lost everything we put in :D :| except dad who won 36 times on roulette ;)
The entire Venice theme is  alluring. ( This is the shopping zone ! )

The hotel has an Indian restaurant named Golden Peacock which serves Indian VEG food at affordable price. So thankfully we didn't face much issue with food. Moreover if you stay at the hotel - you get vouchers which you can redeem & make use of at the restaurant , buy goodies and some listed stuff , go for the Gondola ride which otherwise costs more than 100 Hk $ per person. :\
Mac D is a waste for veggies. It smells awful :| Plus its expensive.

The Italian Gondola Ride.
Our Gondolier was Lia from Italy who  impressed us with her Hindi speaking skills. Greeting us with Namaste and calling us all 'sundari' :D .She knocked us off when she sang 'Chin ta ta' while also doing its signature step ! In return we sang Senorita for her :D Lia made the Gondola ride a lot more fun and there is no doubt about the fact that Indians are loud - so yeah we got a lot of audience :D

Macau Tower.
A view of Macau from the tower.
You can experience one of the highest bungee jumps in the world from the Macau Tower. ( 233 meters!)  We watched 4 people bungee jump. It hardly takes few seconds for the fall and its quite thrilling to watch let alone do it. ( Of course I couldn't convince my parents enough :P )
It costs around 3000 HK $ ; approx 24000 INR.

Macau is a small place and a 2 day stay is more than sufficient.

Hong Kong :

It takes about 45 mins to reach HK from Macau after you board a ferry.
We stayed for 4 days. Hong Kong is like an extension of Mumbai with wider and clean roads. Old HK looks exactly like Mumbai except for the Chinese signs and billboard.

Day 1 : We strolled around TST ( Tsim Tsa Tsui )  which is in Kowloon ( old HK). If you wanna book a hotel , this is the ideal place to lodge at. The subway is close. And the entire shopping area in in TST. It has a lot of major brands.
There are a couple of Indian restaurants as well.
Note : Finding vegetarian food in HK is a tough task. There are top end Indian restaurants which are of-course expensive. The Woodland Hotel at TST is a very good option.

Ocean Park

Day 2 : Ocean Park!  I found this one hyped. I mean , yes it must have been pretty famous 2 decades back. Dolphin show must be quite a thing that time. But essentially its a place for kids to enjoy seeing penguins , polar bears and sea lion. Thankfully some of the adventure rides came as a respite for us adults. The weather sucked. It was blazing hot!!
The light show at night was a beautiful thing to watch.

Day 3  : We took a day off which was a very wise decision as the entire day at ocean park combined with the scorching sun had us totally drained out.
We went to Mong Kow which is close to TST and famous for shopping. I couldn't get what the entire hyper around it is for! We did bargain but eventually  had to pay a high price for clothes and bags. So no! HK isn't a shopping destination ( with ref to bragain-shopping) unless you want to splurge on expensive branded stuff.

Took the metro ride to Central HK. All the stunning corporate buildings welcome you to the main HK. We were too late to catch the tram ride , hence missed going to Victoria Peak! :(
The Times Square and Stanley Street are in main HK ( for extravagent shopping :D )

Day 4  : Disneyland!
I would rate out visiting Disneyland as the 10/10 sole reason to visit HK :P Who on earth wouldn't enjoy this beguiling place! Every damn thing about this place shouts richness. The park has been so nicely designed , you feel like you've entered an  entirely different world! Each and every ride & restaurant is chockablock with fairytale elements.
The cartoon characters take you back to your childhood. How we miss Misckey , Uncle Scrooge , Aladdin & Mermaid !
The Lion King Show ( Live by theater artists) is spectacular.
And the best ride was Mystic Manor. Its just superb!

Disneyland bewitches you at night - specially with the fire-show.

I made this trip with my family AND my two most loving sisters. So this was the first trip of its kind. I had nightmares about its success since two such planned trips previously never happened!
And even as Prats gave a goodbye speech when we departed for India about how our fights didn't matter and lets just enjoy this moment because its the first and could be the last trip together..
I whined silentely.. Why last? Why the hell it should be the last ?! Just because I was stupid and annoying ? How could you do this to me? Why last?!!
To say she read my mind and replied - "who knows what happens in the coming days and where life takes us all."
Damn. That pinches!
She made me feel so guilty about being such a jackass.
I wanted her to scream at me.
To scold me for being immature and whatever the hell I was being :/

But the time's gone.
And all am left with are memories..  A LOT of them..about this amazing vacation to cherish about.

Things I'd never like to forget. Things that bring instant happiness to me :)

Those Chinese conversations.
Public embarrassment missions.
Emptying our pockets out at casino!
 Photograph-obsession.
The day wen we missed to go to Victoria Peak & all the jokes about the same :D
Disneyland !!

We've resolved to go back to Macau to jump off the Tower :D

* All pictures posted here have been clicked by me :P There is some jinx attached with me and cameras. My (new) camera started acting weird.Add to it - I lost the charger!! So had to save the battery for disneyland .Sadly it was so hot even on the day we visited disneyland - that none of us had much energy or enthusiasm to click ! Talk about obsessing for clicking pictures :P

Road back home.

3 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
I now fully and responsibly accept being a part of one of the world's most famous stereotype - women can't drive!!

Not that I cannot drive at all...but there is no doubt that we girls lack some basic sense when it comes to judgement while driving , parking or even reversing the car.

I made my car fell into a roadside pit / sinkhole while on reverse. I was sooo confident about taking the reverse , that I hurriedly accelerated.
And boom! before I could gather all the shouting - we were dangling at 75 degree with only the front left wheel on the border of the road. The car was tilted. And had I been 2 secs late in stopping the car...the back right wheel would have been in a puddle of mud -- Quick sand !!

I was so panicked ..my friends fought hard not to laugh. They did not even dare to click pictures while I was helplessly fidgeting. ( about which they sldn't have bothered and just clicked !:P )
I would have blacked out if we wouldn't have been able to take my car out. Specially since we were a little  away from the city in a village to do an assignment on rural marketing! Ofcourse the parents weren't aware. :D  THAT in itself made me  a complete nervous wreck. I was telling myself I would allow minor injuries to my car..but the possibility of not being able to take it back home .. was making my head spin around.
I wasn't doing anything other than randomly asking the villagers if the car could be pulled out :O

The kids got quite an entertainment for the day! 12-15 of them gathered around , laughed , asked our names..wanted to know wouldn't our parents scold us :D Lol

I was trying to be calm. It wasn't working. The friends made their best effort in pushing the car but to no good. There wasn't even a tractor available  for us to tow!!

In an hour..we managed to gather 7-8 people to help us out. At that point - the car ignition wasn't working! Or so I thought. I panicked so much that instead of asking my friend to put the foot on the clutch for ignition , I kept on yelling - accelerate!! :D

And finally with added efforts...it was the BULLOCK CART that towed my car out :D

I'd like to believe my prayers had a role too. I was praying badly.

Toofani experience. It somehow doesn't feel like a big deal when its all over and cool. But at that point - it was killing me. I was hating myself for driving so terribly!

I've always felt that the road back home is shorter. But this was my longest drive back to home , ever.

140 km/hr

3 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
I love to drive my micra :D
Got a chance to drive on highway again. And this time I scampered at a speed of 140 km/hr.
That's the max speed I've been able to dart at.
And it was awesome :D

An  instant plan made for a day trip. Instant with my circle would mean a plan made ATLEAST 12 hours before its commencement :P
I'd almost given up at a point. It was a bit annoying to coordinate with everyone. Calling , deciding , confirming , de-planning , almost cancelling ,  re-deciding , confirming , informing! :o
Eventually we all made it and am glad we did!

The place we landed at isn't too amazing. A lake and temple is all we had. A lake where having fun was restricted to paddle boating :P
But with a bunch of crazy friends , every place is fun.

Last sem. The very last sem.
Hopefully I'd have better things and such trips to write about than the crap I've put up in last one year.

------

There are always some issues in family. I think the person I take for granted the most is my mom. If she wants to vent .. if she wants to share... if she's mad and hurt...she would talk about it to me. Not the kind of talk where I console or offer any advice. The talk where I listen. The talk where she is HEARD.

Often I'm too busy in my phone , tv , newspaper to not hear a word she says. She would complaint about it and I'd try recollecting whatever little my ears catch. That's hardly compensating. Soooo taking for granted.

I've never had a very friendly relation with my mother , nor did I attempt at having one. It was long clear to me we wouldn't have that sort of rapport. And I've been OK about it. But ignoring her is wrong. Ignoring her is a sin. Coz it doesn't matter how much we share or not , doesn't matter how much I might have upset her previously and how much she upset me... what remains is - she is my mother who cares for me like no one other.
Strangely , sometimes my close friends share a better communication with her.
It makes me feel so guilty.

Realizations though are good. Better late than never.

-----

I keep saying I'm or precisely - have grown heartless. Aky says its not possible. I pondered about it and yes maybe am not. Because I haven't been rendered emotionless.
So I figured there's a part of me , a part of my heart which was capable of feeling strongly has gone in limbo.

That explains everything else.

Why am not that over excited kid. Why I don't get a rush. Why am smiling but people sense something else and so on.

Although the best effect of this semi-dead heart is that I don't think much.  I don't form opinions , the philosophical dos and donts of life and I take everything , the good or bad - equally well.

Win win won.

0 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
Whoever said winning isn't everything or winning isn't important.

They're fooling you.

Competing is important - agreed  , but mind you ..winning is everything.

And you wouldn't realize that until you take part and win!

I won second prize in another business idea competition and Kotler's Yard.

We're through the first round of confluence as well.

Pretty fantastic week it has been.

Now for the Kotler's Yard ..we had to bid for certain materials like cotton balls , ice cream sticks , straw , playing cards etc , make products from them and sell it off to the non participants ( who btw were given ONE RUPEE only per head )

We bid for cotton balls.

And while all others indulged in some high creativity , we focused on our marketing part. As it is we didn't have much of an option to create anything extraordinary out of the colorful cotton balls.

So we made rings , necklace and bracelets :D

Our team was probably the only team with the highest number of items to sell. Almost 40 rings! All other teams with their really fantastic creative products had only about 10-15 items. Plus they priced them high. We sold our rings for one rupee each :D

Although each team was given 2 mins to convince all the customers wherein we marketed pretty well - with all the humor and nonsense :P - at the actual time of selling we were in a virtual fish market.
Screamed our lungs out to sell our product : which was the most fun part of the entire competition.

The team that won first prize were amazing. They marketed stylishly. And they made the maximum use of all the things they had their hands on. Plastic bottles! - Created a hukah pot ,  pen stand , small lanterns ( our of the funnel of the bottles ) also made use of the bottle caps!

If it were a creativity competition - we wouldn't have even grabbed the last spot :P
 But then we're smart no ?  :P
Never lose the entire POINT of doing anything.

And trust me - winning certainly is important. It boosts you so much.

My feet was above the ground.

I was almost flying that day. Almost.

And here's something for a friend who was a lil mad at me  : Akshay! A cuppa coffe ??? :D

China in India :P

2 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
OMG ..my friends are EPIC fun!

:D I laughed excessively today so much so that my stomach is hurting badly :D

Now here's the  story :

I have small eyes. So sometimes my friends  call me Chinese. Although I don't think I look Chinese in any whichever way. But then there's a popular stereotyping , small eyes = Chinese!

We went to see expendibles. The name of the Chinese woman in the movie is Maggie.
So I have been renamed Maggie!
They all have been adressing me differently since morning - Chowmein hot soup , Noodles , Maggie etc etc :P

We were studying Retail when somewhere the concept of Chindia ( Chinese + Indian ) came up.
RS : "Namrata in India is Chindia"
ROFL.

This maggie woman in the movie was 'baby sitted' by Stallone.
So my other friend - Viny whom I call my Superman and sometimes even 'baby'  :D , consistently joked about baby sitting me. And every time the others called me Chinese , I put up a little drama "Babyy..look what they're calling me :(" :D
My superhero would then give a stautory warning to everyone not to tease me :P LOL

I know..it doesn't sound funny in writing. You've gotto witness the episode live :P

And then there were some other jokes which I cannot mention :D

----

Oh and today was the second time in a fortnight that I 'almost' lost my phone.Almost.
It would have been an insult had I really lost it. Because I only damage gadgets ( Technology doesn't survive in my hands. Its an altogether long story! :P)
Never someone who can misplace things.
I'm  a very organized person. Ok maybe not very..but more than people normally are :P
So had I lost the phone..I would have seriously disliked myself.
I wasn't as hyper about the prospect of losing phone as much as I was about misplacing/leaving it somewhere myself. How on earth could I do so !?

I'm so systematic  about most of the things - certain unimportant stuff as well - that my friends joke that I will have specific instructions and guidelines for my guy even in bed :P

Add to it I'm so short tempered and my mood swings are so volatile ..that I might just throw him out of the bed if he doesn't comply with :D

My stomach is still hurting.
:P

Disco 82!

2 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]

Fresher party!
Our theme for the party was Disco 82.

The most interesting part of the party was the Mr & Miss freshers round.

round 1 : Introduce yourself and exaggerate.
Almost everyone did well.

 Round 2 : Role play.
 > Monjolika act with Sunny deol :D
> Dolly Brinda fighting with Nana Patekar
> Proposing in 70/80s style with the girl rejecting.
> Daya ( from Tarak Mehta ) & ACP Pradyuman conversation.
> Dharmendra suicide scene from Sholay in Rajnikant style , while Basanti as Pooja Mishra ( spare me !! :D )

Super amazing juniors. Each of them rocked the roleplaying session.

And the third round was the usual questions & answer round.
One guy was asked what would he first look in a girl ?
Now  now now..thats a controversial question. No guy is going to answer that straight face in all honesty. He said eye and sandals. :P
Another guy was asked what superpower he'd like to have.
He said 'scanner' if am not wrong.
:O

Suddenly all creativity seemed to have swiped away in the third round. :|

I head-banged crazy on powerful tracks. I was aware of the disapproving glares and little bitching sessions...but who gives a damn ?! Nothing comes between me and dance :D

Also I think the best part is the superawesome gang of friends I have. I can be myself 200% :P
I danced like a maniac ( need not be mentioned )..as if I were drunk And it was fun.
Its always fun to be crazy ;)

Yaaaaa dude!

0 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
All I needed was a vacation!

How about with free food , free dj party , free accommodation and a bunch of funny crazy people ?!
Add to it - the venue being GOA!
Perfect!!

I don't have the right words..I have no words infact to write about the most awesome wedding I've been to. Maybe I'm not very sure how I feel about the whole thing. Its weird that I don't feel weird.
( About being back home after having an amazing time and not crying over for missing everything*)

This time in points -

  • Made new friends. Absolutely fantastic people!
  • Danced ( ofcourse) thrice! :  Sufi night. Sangeet night  and pool party
  • Sangeet or DJ night was 'Desi Sunburn' as brat put it. Have never danced so much with live singers. 3 Indian Idol finalist. They sang amazing and the tracks they choose made us all unstopabble. Every time we'd think this is so tiring and now must get off the stage..another kickass track would be played! Freaking awesome.
  • Pool party in a madu wedding is very modern I must say. Lol ..quite questionable. But it was again so much fun! They arranged for rain dance as well. Sexy!
  • The bride was my cousin.Someone I was very close to. But then things change no ? There's still something special about old friendships. All it needs is unison. And I have no opinions what so ever.  Just enjoyed being there. It was her wedding afterall !!
  • The last night of the 3 day wedding..we stayed awake the whole freaking night! Hukah and daru party. One of her friends got so high..she danced alone for an hour. Lol but she is definitely the best dancer I've seen. Totally enjoying to the core and god knows where on earth does she come up with so many different steps!
  • I was the only person who did not cry during vidaaai. I didn't cry even on bubble's wedding. I still don't know why. I mean the whole thing is freaking sentimental plus there was background music to it with dhol and vidaai song. It still didn't hit me. All her friends were sobbing. I was blank.
  • All of us cousins are very cool. And by cool I mean shameless. There's no limit set to cracking non veg jokes. And then since there were also her 'friends' ..there was absolutely no limit. With all the flirting and link ups there were added double meaning comments. Holy shit! Cheesy allright. But funny at the same time.Ridiculous I'd rather say.
  • Before the wedding we all indulged in rigorous dance practice for sangeet. That was another 3 days of full on masti!  With hukah sessions every now and then ;)
  • Everybody vouches on Brat's chammak challo steps ! :D
  • K  played my cousin and she is a damn good dancer herself. G as usual was the lead guy.I was the side dancer. I don't like that. lol but I held onto my grumblings. *pats self*
  • Food : 5-star hotels have their own receipes. You generally don't end up liking the usual dishes. But for the continental specially mexican and thai food - it was deliciously delectable along with dulcet desserts!
  • To sum up it was one hell of a  heavenly week! :D Mind blowing fun! Too many memories and jokes to rest upon.
* Now the usual custom is that whenever I spend time with my maternal cousins which is like once in a year and come back to my homeplace - I sob like a kid. I start feeling the vacuum much before I'm to bid goodbye to everyone.
This time it was different. Strange. I didn't get the jitters. I was hardly over -conscious of the fact that I was leaving and that its probably going to be another year before I see everyone.
That odd sick moment hit me only for a second when brat  left a night before we all departed. And thats that.
I surprised myself. How much can I empty myself out , afterall ? :)

I've spent a very very good time that I'll always cherish. I have my own grudges for certain things. But it allright. Its like a peck of dust I'm flicking away. Doesn't stand anywhere against the glitterati.

Btw how could I not mention some of our own 'phrases'
Two of my cousins - Ak and Brat have this habit of saying 'Ya dude' all the time. The 'ya' is pronounced with a jolt. lol
And then Ok is Oooooookaaayyy.
We tease brat - ' wtf man wtf!'  He uses the F word like an article.
Ak cracks the most silliest jokes ever. Whatever it may be..the fact is everybody giggles. So I guess it works. :D

I'm the usual photographer. I make sure I click as much I can. But this time with three SLRs there wasn't much scope left for me :D
I'm waiting for the pictures!
Its killing to be dependent man!
'Man' another word used like a phrase. lol :)

I'd been to bengaluru as well. Superb weather!

Pani da rang vekh k ..

4 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
Absolutely smitten by Ayushman.
I've always liked him as a host/anchor...but never knew he would do so well as an actor and even a singer! Just awesome!

Vicky donor is one of those light hearted movies with every element in the right place. And when you see someone act so effortlessly - it makes watching the movie all the more worthwhile.
Playing a punjabi guy mustn't have been too tough for him. Just loved his spontaneity.

Not only him..every other character in the movie was equally good.
Loved the role of 'vicky's' modern grandmother.
Some very funny dialogues & scenarios!

And then ofcourse coming to the overall movie - it managed to deal with the subject of sperm donation very well. Plus also taking over the cultural differences and again tuning the message subtly.

A very realistic , sensible , decent & entertaining  movie - yet not very serious or preachy.
Thats a good combination to give a break from the otherwise bollywood bullshit.

I'm currently addicted to this song that Ayushman has sung. Its wonderful.

Carnival!

1 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
Its been quite a happening weekend.

Started off with farewell party. We had chosen 'carnival' as our theme and I don't reckon if any senior stuck with the theme. Infact for that matter I think - we , the juniors were dressed better :D

There was obviously the usual..food , dancing and picture clicking. Lots of it!

We had selected special couples for the paper dancing competition. Too much chemistry dude!
And yes as they say..'mauke ka faida uthao' - the juniors too jumped in the competition :D

I was dancing with a friend - trying to do the ball dance thing which didn't seem to work because neither am I good at it nor was he :P

My friend and I conducted the Mr and Miss senior/farewell/ whatever :P
And it was nothing short of a disaster!
Our questions were quite questionable!
We asked one of the girls nominee to swear in Hindi.
She started off with beep beep..but we prodded her to say the full word.
And in front of those odd 200 people she blurted out MC and one or two other such slangs without a hitch. Gutsy!!
The seniors were enjoying the show :P but then some of the guys from our batch opposed and I decided maybe we would have to change the rest of the questions.

So even as I asked one of the guys about his views on live-in relations , I had to change the virginity question replacing it with who's the hottest here! huh :o Not much fun :P

The question round was the last one. There was the ramp walk and dance with the juniors before that. One of the seniors asked me to dance with him.

As for the rest of the party...I danced like a maniac! Totally to my heart's content.
And if it weren't for those stupid heels I wore ,  I could have danced more ( if we could have had more of the dj! )

This is the invitation card for the seniors! Nice no ? Quite a creative bunch we have in college!

I have formed a theory about dressing.
The shorter your LBD , the more compliments you garner :P
While my friends constantly kept saying I was looking hot, my classmates were quite surprised to see me in new avatar :D

And of course my friends were also teasing me to no end.
'Maaal' someone said. The other one was like 'Inventory?' lol
When I told this to another friend , he said ' Godown ka maal ?'
:D

Everybody is a character here! And I love being these superawesome people.
Had an amazing time with everyone!

I don't get it why seniors think they are the most gorgeous people on the whole damn earth. I would have wanted to enlighten them on this several times.
They have an attitude the size of an elephant.

I almost silently swear every time one of them give those looks. Bitch.

Driving on highway

9 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
I just got wings. So I cannot stop from flying.

Doing crazy stuff. Drove 20 kms in the outskirts of the  city for a college function at night.

It was risky. My first drive on highway at night.
Did not tell at home.

"kamine' friends kept irritating all through the drive :
" yes ,  run over that guy.."
" are 2-3 ko toh aaj uda hi dena.."
" Oyee..mai apni mom ka ek lauta beta hoon..so please aaram se chala"
" Nammm...if you hit the truck , the truck will be pieces..apne ko kuch nahi hoga" :P

So even while my car and we all survived ...( it was quite hyped..I was driving good enough!)
this guy Z starts talking about flesh , blood and dunno what all :O

And he did not accompany us , the girls on our way back. Free food makes him 10 times more hungry :|

Had an amazing Dj party! Danced to my heart's content! :D :D
We never refrain ourselves from doing garba..even if the song played is 'chammak challo'

Seniors choreographed a fashion show on retro theme. Quite commendable.

And there was lavani too which was performed twice.

We too danced on 2 bollywood numbers with 1 hr of practice.
Maybe the saving grace was that we cancelled one of our dance sequence at the end moment on seeing all the other dance performances. :P

College doesn't suck when it arranges such parties :D
How I love to dance !!

MI 4 : ghost protocol

6 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
Some of the most kickass action sequences to be seen..and no its not just about chasing cars and rash driving. Or some fights. Its about monkeying on to the world's tallest building!
Superman act by not a superman.Deadly.

the first half is freaking awesome.

If you were to be anywhere in my vicinity while watching the movie..you would have heard 'omg! omg!!' every 15 mins. Yes that awesome.

The second half too is good. Except that Anil Kapoor's entry quite runied it. I guess watching an Indian actor in a hollywood ACTION flick , desperately trying his best to deliver dialogues in English and that while retaining and exhibiting the fact that he is an Indian actor or well almost playing a part/character that he would normally do in a bollywood film...well that can be pretty hilarious :D

A lot of action was not required , storywise. It felt too dragged. But then who says no to adrenaline ?

As it is these non-superhero action flicks stop making sense after a while.(logically)
- Like I couldn't quite figure out what the hell was that sand storm in Dubai about  ? And how come it exactly and suddenly 'stopped' or disappeared the moment Ethan ( Tom Cruise ) stopped chasing the villain ?  height of co-incidence ya ? :P
-  They seem to have a lot of devices and 'international access' despite of the so called  Ghost protocol :D

Tom Cruise looks old. ( of course because he is old! but you never want the most hottest looking celebs to grow old :D )
No stunt doubles! :O That's like double wow!
No hot scenes. ( Isn't that supposed to be by default ? :P ) Minus points for a action movie.
Good humor btw. Plus points.

Want an adrenaline rush ? Go watch it!

Freshers.

I like it when someone asks me out for dance - and even though I do not know how to jive..I still dive in the offer... Because I so so so wanted to ball dance :P

I like it even more that a preferably good guy asked me out for the same :P :P lol

And then...I like it much more that another good guy from class pings me & tells me that I danced good :D :D

Nothing like being complimented. :P ;)

Do I not sound excited ?! Truth is...I 'enjoyed a party after a long time :))
Danced to my heart's content...clicked lots of pictures &had a great great time!!

Thanks to our seniors for the party!
Good venue...awesome DJ ..and okayish food. :P
However , when it comes to rocking tracks & dancing - I really don't  care about food. I eat dancing :) :D

Cash & Calorie rich.

4 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
Heavy weekend , yet again.
Of course making me both cash & calorie rich.

Its almost becoming a family tradition now. When all the cousins are downtown - all we do is EAT.
Lunch at someone's place..dinner's at someone else's place ..so on & so forth. And in between all the time left - we talk , crack nonsense jokes , laugh on the same , click pictures & play cards!!
But most of all what I reckon is the fact that we EAT a lot :P

So apart from food ..what was special this time was our two hour session of Dumb Charades!
From movies like 'Aah' ( yeah thats a movie name..I found it in Google search results - after we were not left with many choices ) to 'Unns'  ;  the game was one hell of a laugh riot!

The best was when my sister was trying to explain ' Farishtey'.
She did everything to make her team get the 'Fur' part . She even enacted as an animal or something like that ?! lol :D
And despite all of the hints reaching to a 'material' - her awesome team members talked of silk , cotton etc etc - except Fur :D
Atlast..all she did was enact an angel ; circling her hand above her head :P
*Tubelight!!*

Oh and then..the most hilarious one was a movie name ending with Raat ; Mr. A blurting out all the words in haste  ---- Untill he also said 'Suhagraat'
ROFL.

I mean , seriously...why on earth would we give that as a movie name for dumb charads ?? :P

And then we ran out of movie names as I mentioned earlier. Someone suggested to play Home Production i.e to create your own movie names! :D
Big B refused...citing example of how someone would explain a home produced movie name like :
"Is cheez ka tatparya kya hai "
Tatparya. LOL.

I also remember how my cousin tried explaining our team 'Ghatotkach'
Thats an animated movie.
He first gave us an object hint : Ghada
Then teeth > tooth :P
And from the combination of Gha ( from ghada ) & tooth - my smart team member yelled ' Ghatotkach' :D :D

I can't recollect more. There were soo many of them! And each of them made us laugh crazy.

That's my sweet little brother's gift to me :P I'm yet to receive a material gift , lol
But anyhow..this is obviously Priceless. :)

You are one of a kind. A species like the 'mobile phone' repels you!

Friend Z :
Don't you sometimes get the feeling you might be adopted ?

Friend R :
Sad yaar. Ladki sahi hai. Bas galat family mein born ho gayi.

Friend T :
Why are we such idiots ?

Pyaar Ka Punchnama ;)

1 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
First of firsts : Girls are not like girls made to see in the movie!
I agree there are the ones who JUST want to shop & who bicker ALL the time.
Then there are also the ones who treat guys like puppies or turn them into one.
And the third kind who change boyfriends like buses :P
( In fact at numerous instances I personally felt the urge to slap the three girls in the movie since the guys weren't doing the same :| )

But not EVERY girl falls into the above mentioned categories.
But anyhow..the movie really is more about the 'space issue' that today's gen face. And how a guy's single status beats the mingled one :D

The movie is FUN! The dialogues are hilarious. Although most of them mock women or woman's behavior . . . but given to the storyline & situations..it all fits too well!
The trailer seemed too promising. The movie does slack a little in the 2nd half. . . but there is no way you can miss out the 10 minute monologue from the character 'rajju' ! :D  Its freaking funny! :D
I liked all the male actors. Very natural with the acting.
Just go & enjoy this movie!

---------

I also happened to see Pirates of Caribbean : On Stranger Tides today itself :D

Jack Sparrow is all you want to see this movie for!

Not much of action.

And story..well who cares about the story of fantasy-adventure films anyway ?!

You have an affair.

8 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
So I finally went to the thumb print guy.
He tells future and such crap after taking thumb print.
I say 'crap' because..it really was ridiculous! But it had to be the most funniest conversation I've had with any future teller so far.

First they extract some information. According to their 'shastra' , everybody's future was written some 3000 years ago on leaves or branches.  He picked two bunch of these 'leaves' which looked more like thin wooden plates scribbled with a South Indian language.
They asked random questions ...or made statements which I had to agree or disagree.

"Are you muslim?"
No
"Your father married twice?"
No.
"Had any operation?"
No
"Abortion?"
Hell no!!
"You're having a affair"
No.
"Sure?"
Yeah..pretty sure! I don't!
"Had an affair??"
*Giving the I- thought -I -was- here- to- hear -about- my -future look*
"Ok..you're bday month is Sept Oct Nov or Dec"
Nope.
After some time..
"Bday month is April May June July Aug"
No!
After some more time..
"Bday month is Jan Feb March"
Yeah
*Like I should be surprised :P*
"Birth date falls before 20."
yeah
"Falls before 10th"
Yeah
" Its on the 5th"
No
"6th??"
*You really think I'm gonna jump in joy for getting that right?? Probability dude!!*
"You're 22."
21
"You're studying"
*LOL.. as if that would have been hard to decipher. You must have calculated that a 21 yr old must be doing her graduation. But poor you..I'm already done with it.*
Done with it.
"You're doing nothing right now"
*Really ? lol*
Nope
"You're tensed and worried"
* Like seriously..anyone can tell that!!*
yeah
"You have an affair"
* You're slow man! I said No already*
Nooo

He asked my friend to go sit outside and then he again asked me if I had an affair , lol.
My reply was the same. So he asked "Nahi hai ?? To affair karne ki iccha hai ??"
*rofl*

Few more questions here and there...no in fact a lot of questions here & there after which he rightly told my parent's name! ( I'd only given my name ) I was wondering if they have contacts with the passport or license department ..wherein they just give away the thumb print and get all of their 'I'm gonna surprise you' information. :O

Coming to the actual prediction part . . . There's hardly anything I'd like to believe. Or atleast only the part that I liked. But I'll filter everything to mention his funny analysis :
" You and your husband will fight a lot. Very much."
He must have said that at least 4 times.
"But you won't get divorced"
lol
"He'll start drinking in 40s"
*I was wondering..so late??*
"You'll be very suspicious of him"
In the end , he said " you'll live a satisfied life" :D lol which is such a contradiction to his above mentioned statemtents! I tried too hard to keep myself from laughing.

HOAX.

It was worth the money though. For entertainment :D I'm really jobless !
I maybe making fun now...but who knows? His entire prediction was recorded and a copy of the CD was given to me :O
I was even told that I had some previous birth sins ! :P

But yeah I had gone to him with high expectations . . .I was really desperate to know something good.
Don't question my belief in such things. My dad is the best future teller. However , its ironical he never says anything to me!! I had started wondering if there was something majorly wrong written for me. Which is why I went to this thumb print jyotish. But I've made a resolution I'm never gonna ask for it ever again!
Except that I must really dare to ask dad :O

Off color. Balloon vigour.

4 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]
Holi = Water Balloon fight!
A ritual started last year which I believe was fun - the kind of fun you have to pay for in the form of pain.

The balloon shots hit hard.I couldn't lift my hands yesterday. My arms were paining so much. :O
And I don't know why I was targeted so much by our very well accomplished balloon hitter.

I think last year's balloon fight was more fun. I really wanted to play more with colors this time. But somehow that didn't materialize.

This year's Holi was unique though. Because we not just played water holi but also flower holi! :D

-- I've lost my appetite for blogging. Felt mandatory to make a 'festival entry' since I almost always do that.
And that's that. Nothing more to say write.

Kite Flying Trial and Error

2 Cuppa coffeee [comments ]

And I still haven't learned to fly kites!
I did try though and thankfully got 'sufficient' number of chances unlike otherwise.
My 'idiot' cousin who was flying right next to me..cut off my kite...TWICE ! tsk tsk :|

--- Best way to have fun on birthdays is to attack everyone through snow spray :P
